DESCRIPTION

Small devices that trigger a ritual reading.
Shapes that are built with smoke.

The research part of a trip to Guatemala, and the observation of Mayan incense. That memory translates into household objects, nearby, made to live together.

The research part of a trip to Guatemala, and the observation of incense maya. That memory translates into household objects, nearby, made to live together.

They are crafted from woods such as urapán and walnut, which absorb smoke and, over time, develop an interior patina. The figures vaguely evoke tents, towers, bells, and nests: recognizable forms that sit somewhere between a toy and a machine.

The objects are almost rudimentary, with a touch of popular culture, that shape the domestic landscape.
The utility remains: a column that terminates in a floor lamp, corner, which intensifies the presence of the smoke and makes visible their ascent.

A minimal artifact for inhabiting the invisible.
