DESCRIPTION

In this project, the question is how heritage can be updated, and at what pace change should take place.

After the pandemic, the logic of small rooms was no longer enough to support new forms of gathering. Rather than replacing what existed, the intention was to open it up: to pedagogy, to everyday encounters, but also to exhibition and to a broader discussion around architecture.

We called this space El Otro Mundo (The Other World).
A large continuous room where work, conversation, and exhibition coexist—including a permanent collection of architectural models—all organized around the garden.

The sequence unfolds as a chain: entrance hall, workshop, main room, garden, workshop.
An elongated structure gradually gives way to a more intimate corner, almost like a library, while a bathroom occupies the height beneath a large skylight.

To update is not to replace, but to open up new possibilities for being together.
