DESCRIPTION

Five years later, we find ourselves back in the corridors of ARTBO. For this return, we sought to explore the ways visitors relate to artifacts of varying scales that are capable of accommodating everything from large gatherings to moments of solitude. In this spirit, the installations engage with the vast pavilion through distinct forms: a pyramid habitable across three levels and four sides that serves as a resting area or an impromptu stage; and a ramp that invites interaction, challenging users to lie down or balance on an inclined surface. here are also small seating islands crafted from wood scraps joined by minimal connections, amplifying the material inventory of utilitarian solutions naturally found at construction sites or in rural areas across Colombia.

For the VIP guest area, the project offers a critical commentary on the notions of comfort and "VIP style," contrasting them with the beauty of imperfect objects and humble materials, thereby allowing the commonplace to take on new functions. It is our small Wabi-Sabi tribute, or "Latin Wabi-Sabi" as we now like to call it. The space features a wavy wall made of 450 backlit cardboard tubes; five large rings draped in raw fabric that form "clouds," providing both scale and shade; floor lamps with minimal joints and forms that leave the material unaltered; and semicircular partitions that create private zones for seating areas constructed from furniture reused from previous editions.

As always, endless thanks to the entire Yemail Architecture team, to Hernán and Camilo Loaiza, and to the Fair team.
