Project Details

House 4 La Soledad 2014

DESCRIPTION

The project consists of the extension and adaptation of a house located in a traditional neighborhood in central Bogotá, originally built in the 1940s. The intervention follows criteria of recovery, refinement of the existing construction systems, and material continuity through details such as marble-chip flooring, ornamental metalwork, and textured glass, among others.

The project subdivides and expands the original house into four new housing typologies with different areas and spatial configurations: two duplex apartments ranging from 68 m² to 90 m² within the original structure; a three-level, 70 m² tower built in the rear courtyard where the former service area was located; and an apartment with two terraces occupying the two new floors added to the existing volume.
