House 12 La Calera 2019

DESCRIPTION

In this rural house in the municipality of La Calera, the slope is embraced as the project’s primary constructive condition. Ways of living unfold in terraces: entry occurs at the highest point; above are the domestic spaces, while below, where the terrain becomes steeper, social life takes place.

A base that anchors itself to the ground and a volume that rests upon it. A parallelepiped set against the landscape: a dark timber box on the outside, with a light interior.

The house organizes the terrain while, at the same time, allowing itself to be shaped by it.
