Mafel Offices 2017

DESCRIPTION

The Mafel Office is an interior fit-out for a compact workspace in Bogotá. The project organizes the plan through a series of programmatic units that concentrate services, meetings, reception, archive, and private offices, freeing circulation and establishing a clear sequence between arrival, waiting, work, and encounter.

At the entrance, an autonomous, slightly offset box functions as the reception and first point of contact. More than a piece of furniture, it operates as a small interior architecture: receiving, filtering, and organizing the relationship between the exterior and the workspace. At the center of the plan, the meeting room behaves like an interior pavilion around which circulation, views, and relationships between the different office areas are arranged.

Toward the back, a service block brings together the coffee area, support station, and document archive, concentrating secondary functions in order to keep the main workspaces clear. Three private offices complete the scheme through a serrated geometry defined by oblique planes in relation to the façade. This operation resolves access points, doors, and enclosures without producing a rigid corridor, generating instead a more dynamic sequence of entrances, pauses, and diagonal views.

The project transforms a small office into an efficient system of interior architecture. Each unit performs a specific function while also contributing to a broader spatial organization: reception as threshold, meeting room as central pavilion, service block as support, and private offices as spaces for focused work.
