House 18 Favignana – Tabio 2022

« " of 4 " »

DESCRIPTION

The house is conceived as a continuous unit and, at the same time, as a sequence in motion. It is situated on a sloping site, facing west and opening up to a distant view of Tabio.

It is a metal house that, through a subtle game of slopes, responds to the high-plateau climate and establishes a relationship with the landscape. A brick wall introduces thermal mass and anchors the project to the site, while landscaping featuring native species complements its integration.

The house is essentially horizontal, but its lines shift and break along the facade. The corners become active spaces for sitting, socializing, and generating shelter from the low temperatures of the early morning.

In that combination between constructive accuracy and adaptation to the place, the house finds its character.
