House 9 – Tenza Valley 2018

DESCRIPTION

In the Valle de Tenza, in Boyacá, an in–house workshop.

A two-level solution: a base that anchors itself to the ground—a concrete foundation—and a first floor that extends outward, occupies the air, and creates a void to free up a terrace. Above it, a small pavilion in a different material, lighter, almost like a second layer.

Self-built. Productive housing in a rural context.
An architecture assembled through gradual growth: solidity below, the grain of timber above, the workshop as an extension of inhabiting.

A house that does not simply occupy the land, but negotiates with it.
