DESCRIPTION

Winning project at the XXVII Colombian Architecture and Design Biennial

The project continues the traveling exhibition Voces para transformar a Colombia (Voices for Transforming Colombia), developed by the National Center for Historical Memory as a prototype for exploring the curatorial framework of its future museum, conceived as part of the Peace Agreement signed between the Colombian Government and the former FARC guerrilla. Structured around three themes—body, water, and land—the exhibition proposes a spatial experience centered on memories of the conflict, forms of resistance, and possibilities for collective transformation.

In this second iteration, the exhibition is installed in the plaza of Parque de los Deseos in Medellín, opposite the Planetarium. Rather than positioning itself as an autonomous object, the pavilion adopts the existing surface of the plaza as its own floor. It settles onto the topography and enters into dialogue with the surrounding architecture, incorporating the slope, circulation paths, and public activities of the site as part of the experience.

The strategy consists of building an open infrastructure capable of containing the exhibition route while simultaneously extending some of its activities into the plaza. Workshops, screenings, play areas, and collective activities unfold outdoors, expanding the reach of the exhibition without isolating it from the existing life of the city.

Inside, a modular grid organizes different areas and routes through the exhibition. Visitors move among objects, stories, images, and interpretive devices that allow them to approach the curatorial narrative through different levels of intensity.
